Ruth Cadbury MP welcomed Heathrow's accreditation as a London Living Wage employer today as hundreds of her constituents will get a much needed pay rise."I'd like to congratulate Heathrow Airport Ltd (HAL) on being accredited as a Living Wage employer. West London MPs and airport unions have been urging HAL to address the issue of low pay and poor working conditions for some time and I am pleased they have listened to us.Hundreds of staff working for HAL and their contractors will benefit immediately, and many more will over the coming months as HAL lets new retail and other contracts.I now hope that other employers based at Heathrow, particularly the airlines, will follow HAL's example, and work with the Living Wage Foundation to become accredited too."
