Can you put your name to the letter below?
Dear Rt Hon Justine Greening
I am writing to ask you to reconsider your proposals for school funding.
Schools find themselves in the unenviable position of having to deal with significant cost pressures on their budgets due to inflation, increased employer national insurance contributions, the impact of the apprenticeship levy and the rising minimum wage. On top of this the Government is planning to revise the National Funding Formula for schools.
From the information that I have been given about my area the cumulative effect of these pressures and the change to the National Funding Funding is estimated to be £5.1 million - or a loss of 6.2% of their budgets.
My constituents and I are asking if you will reconsider your funding proposals for our schools which could see between 9 and 18 fewer teachers in our secondary schools and up to 11 fewer teachers in our primary schools.
We look forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely Ruth Cadbury MP
