Corona virus update

Corona Virus Update

I know these are worrying times for us all. I want to keep you up to date on the latest national and local information in regard to the crisis.

Anyone can carry the virus so PLEASE! STAY AT HOME; and if you have to go out, only do so in line with Government instructions and KEEPING 2 METRES AWAY FROM OTHER PEOPLE. Keep regularly washing hands etc. If you are over 70 OR have any underlying health conditions, OR have a temperature or a new cough – PLEASE isolate yourself. Only by everyone carrying out these measures can we slow the spread of COVID19 and slow the growing pressure it is putting on our already overstretched NHS.

Whilst I support the Government in bringing forward emergency legislation, residents are telling me that more needs to be done to protect them, their income and businesses. I have been and will continue, to raise these issues with Ministers.

The situation, and therefore relevant information, is changing rapidly. I will try and update this site as often as is feasible, with accurate information from credible sources – but I cannot take responsibility for the content of information on other sites

Finally; my deepest sympathies go those who have lost loved ones at this time, and with those who are ill with the virus. I also want to thank all those working in the NHS, those caring for others, and all who are working so hard to support us during this crisis.
