How can Ruth Help?

During covid my advice surgeries transferred to virtual meetings with some just via telephone, as many local residents have told me they prefer meeting this way, I now offer both virtual and in person appointments. However, my team and I can deal with many issues without you needing to book a surgery appointment, particularly if it is an urgent matter.

Please understand that we will have to deal with the most urgent situations first, other emails and calls may take longer to receive a response.

How I can help:

My role as a Member of Parliament (MP) involves examining the work of the Government and holding them to account by challenging their proposals. This can include raising issues affecting constituents, scrutinising legislation, attending debates and voting on new laws. I also serve on the Transport Select Committee which works to improve the way Transport system is run.

Another important part of my role is to act as an advocate and spokesperson for my constituency Brentford and Isleworth (including Hounslow, Chiswick, Osterley & Spring Grove). I am very active locally visiting schools, community organisations, attending functions and meeting with local businesses & charities.  Visiting these groups talking to local residents all helps to give me further insight and context into issues that I may debate on in Parliament.

As an MP, I can help constituents with matters relating to functions of central government departments, such as education, healthcare, policing, immigration and passports, citizenship, social security and pensions, taxation and tax credits and student finance.

If you are a constituent contacting me about an issue that you would like my help or support with, please ensure that you have included your: full name, address, postcode, and a contact number. Relevant reference number(s) e.g DWP/Home Office are also helpful, and if we are already helping you on an issue please use the same ZA…. number.

If you are getting in touch about an issue related to the services provided by the London Borough of Hounslow, including matters such as street cleaning, council housing, planning, trees, noise complaints, and parking, you may find that your elected local ward councillor will be best placed to assist you in the first instance.
