Ruth supports amendments to block no-deal Brexit.

Ruth Cadbury MP has reaffirmed her support for two amendments that would help block a no-deal Brexit.

Ruth Cadbury MP said ''I'm proud to support both these amendments, which will help block a no-deal Brexit. I know first-hand from talking to constituents that a no-deal Brexit would be disastrous for jobs and investment, whilst also crippling the UK's ability to import goods.

This would impact a whole range of areas from key medical products such as insulin and HIV/AIDs medication, to the tools and parts for our world class manufacturing industries. Cressida Dick, the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police has said a no-deal Brexit would put the public at risk, and the CBI has warned no-deal would severely harm our financial, and service sector of the economy.

As an EU member we participate in over 750 international treaties, and have signed up to trade agreements with over 60 countries. These would become null, and void if we crash out without a deal.

When I ran for election in 2017, I made it clear that I would oppose any form of Brexit that damaged my constituents. Leaving without a deal would do an extraordinary amount of harm, and for that reason I will be supporting these amendments, and will continue to work to stop the risk of a no-deal Brexit.''
